Good Rule for parents; "Do as you say you do"; not.........."Do as I say not as I do"........why?? because the keen minds of your kids a blend of both parents know when you are on the up and up.....and they know when you are hiding things.....and not doing as you said you do.......so they will not do it either.

Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.                                                           Psalm 127:3-5

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.                            Proverbs 22:6

and Jesus said;"Let the children come unto me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven."

My children fear the Lord, and keep all His statutes and His commandments....They love the Lord their God with all their heart and with their entire being and with all their might.           Deut. 6:2,5

Children's children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their fathers.       Proverbs 17:6

My children rise up and call me blessed.          Proverbs 31:28

As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are my children in the hands of the Lord.                                                                 Jeremiah 18:6

My children make right choices according to the Word of God.     Isaiah 54:13

A man/women is a father/mother  by; birth, marriage, step, adoption, foster, or blood. The greatest step father in the world was Joesph, Jesus' step father.

Number 1 complaint from kids.......you don't listen to me

Number 1 complaint from parents.......you will just do it.....kids just don't pay attention.

Number 2 problem......how to communicate........today it is like one big text message.

What can you do as a parent?? Be alert, Be involved in all of their day to day living, Be educated..........learn new stuff with them.........

Do something together as a family ; set one day a week aside for family date night, have everyone make a list of what they want to do.......can make a rule; cannot cost any money; or set a money limit on the activity.

Consider that each child is different they are supposed to be, they have two parents; set a time a side where you spend time with each child by their selves, and plan what you will do ask them, you would be surprised how creative they are.

Teens.....one of the greatest ideas I have seen is pretend date night for dad's and mother's.......Dad take the daughter out on a pretend date dinner......show her how you expect the boyfriend to treat her ( manners, door open, chairs.....etc. and few hints about yeah that may say you are beautiful......but keep your head all boy's say that.......Few tips on self defense. And please show them how to change a flat on a car, just see to it they can do it.......and take care of the car; including oil changes. Mom's take the son out on fake date just like Dad did and show your son; how you expect him to treat, females...........it works.......and it is quality time......could even share an about how you got rejected when you asked someone out......how you felt......

Dozens of Web sites can help you save money

By Doreen Hemlock

Thinking of making a New Year's resolution to save money next year?

Help may be just a click away. Dozens of Web sites offer assistance with savings, from financial advice to comparison shopping and discount coupons. Plus, e-mail alerts can keep you posted on bargains or remind you when library books are due.

Miguel Olivares, 44, a trade specialist living in Margate, Fla., saves money with Pricegrabber.com, a site popular for comparison shopping. He types in the name of a product he wants, and the site searches multiple vendors for prices - online sellers that might include Amazon.com or TigerDirect.com.

Olivares has purchased computer keyboards, hard drives and video cards with Pricegrabber, at savings he estimates at 10 percent or more compared with other online vendors. And best of all, he finds savings fast - with price data all in one spot, he said.

"I probably saved $30 to $40 on the last video card I bought, which cost under $300," said Olivares.

Chris Collie, 45, a consultant for call centers and resorts in the Caribbean, saves on leisure travel at Hotwire.com through its Limited Rate program. When he can be flexible with dates and travel times to visit friends or family, he calls up Hotwire, enters his proposed destination, the number of days he'd like to be away and lets the site come up with the cheapest options in the next month or so. He learns details of those flights - like departure and arrival times and if there are stops on the way - after he buys the ticket.

Collie figures Hotwire.com's Limited Rate Plan saves him about 30 percent compared with other travel sites, since it taps into excess inventory airlines are trying to unload. But there's a tradeoff: "I have to be flexible. I can't predict what the flight time will be," Collie said.

For business travel, when he wants to know flight and travel times in advance, Collie uses Hotwire's regular service or, more often, Expedia.com.

Kacie Main, 24, a public relations specialist living in Fort Lauderdale, saves using e-mail alerts and e-coupons she receives from stores and Web sites where she shopped, from Victoria's Secret to the NFL Shop. She signs up for the alerts, "and they keep you well-informed of deals out there," she said.

She recently bought shoes and jewelry on sale at bakersshoes.com, with free shipping.

Main finds online shopping more convenient than visiting malls: "It helps cut down on driving and gas." She finds fewer distractions and temptations than in the malls, so she tends to spend less.

"It's easier to target shop on-line," said Main.

Safety for you and yours.....More than 3.4 million burglaries occur annually.

60 percent or more of residential burglaries occur during daylight hours.

Every 14.6 seconds, a burglary takes place.

More than 60 percent of all burglaries are by forcible entry.

The average loss per residential burglary is $1,725.

Only 17 percent, or one in six people, volunteer in a crime-prevention program.

 TAKE ACTION TODAY

1. Get to know your neighbors.

2. Organize a community watch program to protect your neighborhood. Obtain training and necessary information from your local law enforcement agency.

3. Post a Neighborhood Watch sign in a visible window of your home and encourage your neighbors to do the same.

4. Ask neighbors to be observant and report suspicious or unusual activities.

5. Let your neighbors know when you'll be out of town and leave a contact number.

6. Make your home safer by installing an alarm system, placing rods in window frames, adopting a dog and setting indoor lamps (using CFLs) with timers.

A safe neighborhood is created when the people who live in it look out for one another and their property. Especially during the holiday season, when people are traveling and homes are left empty, we need to pay extra attention. Keeping a watchful eye, noticing and reporting unusual activities, and talking with neighbors to make them aware of neighborhood happenings all help to create a crime watch program and a safe community. Let's make it more difficult for burglars to do their job.
